I direct and edit television commercials for a living but I have a huge passion for sitting down with people for an interview. It could be athletes, artists, business leaders or someone’s grandmother. It doesn’t matter to me. I love to uncover the hidden insights and simple truths that connect us to a person’s story. I love discovering their true motivations and the beautiful metaphoric ways they describe their experience.
My approach is not about questions and answers. My goal is not to get to the end of a question list. It’s about creating a space for a genuine and truthful conversation. A sharing of ideas, a dropping of facades and a focus on connection. It's an approach that guantees people to feel relaxed and to let their guards down – to tell their story, in their own words.
The film can be as complex or as simple as we’d like to make it. It could be an edit with someone looking down the camera for two minutes, or it could be with footage we capture to support the story. What’s important is that we have the ingredients we need to present the story in the most effective way possible.
I’m a filmmaker with 15 years experience and a graduate of journalism. I combine narrative and cinematic sensibilities with an investigative mind to capture and educate audiences. From concepting and scripting to editing and delivery, I am involved the whole way through.
